Iyengar Yoga is a system of Yoga based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar; rooted in the traditional wisdom and philosophy of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. Students will learn through an intelligent sequencing of poses, precise instruction, clear demonstration, the innovative use of props, and verbal feedback. Iyengar Yoga helps students establish strength, stamina, and concentration as well as mobility and flexibility. Especially in introductory classes, there is an emphasis on standing poses from which the principles of all the other asanas emerge. Certified Iyengar Yoga Teachers are trained to modify the yoga postures for individual student needs helping students of all ages and conditions through a rewarding yoga experience. 

The following items will be helpful to have for class:

  • Yoga Mat: I use a Manduka, which lasts a long time but needs some time to break in. Alternatively get Jade Yoga Mat if you want something more instantly sticky but at the same time more eco-friendly and will break down over time.
  • 2 Yoga Blocks: wood, firm foam, or cork
  • 3 Yoga Blankets
  • Yoga Belt
  • (Metal folding) chair, this one is specifically designed for yoga but nearly any chair will do as we get started
  • Eventually, get yourself a bolster.

Join me for livestream Iyengar Yoga classes via Zoom from my home every TUESDAY at 6pm and FRIDAY at 10AM You can take these General Level classes at anytime with no previous yoga experience necessary. Learn in a safe, supportive, and friendly online environment. These classes are small so that you are able to receive proper guidance and feedback while learning online.

Pricing: All payments can be made via PayPal or Venmo

  • 6 class package for $110
  • Drop-in: $20 with sliding scale available. If you are experiencing financial hardships let me know and we can work out a price that is manageable for you at this time.
