Contemporary & Modern Dance Forms: In this class we will explore the versatility of the human body moving in space. Class builds from the ground up, as floor work helps the dancer understand their relationship with gravity; feeling the weight of the body as it relates to the earth as well as the momentum that moves us efficiently through space. From there, levels will be explored along with oppositional directions to help discover length and stability, strength and effortlessness. Students will practice improvisation and find their individual voice as a mover leading into collaborative phrase work sculpted by the collective group.
What to wear: Anything comfortable that allows for a free range of movement. Layers are recommended as you’ll be sliding and rolling on the floor.
Wednesdays 5:45pm – 7:00pm starting July 8th 2026
Location: Russian Ballet Academy: 55 Main Street, Suite 130 Newmarket, NH
